Trevoh Chalobah may never play for Chelsea again after reportedly rejecting the opportunity to join Nottingham Forest.

Trevoh Chalobah may never again play for Chelsea after reportedly rejecting a transfer to Nottingham Forest at the transfer deadline.

The English defender sustained an injury during preseason and has not played this season; however, there was an unsuccessful attempt to trade him last month.

Chalobah is no longer required due to Chelsea’s acquisitions of Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, and Levi Colwill, who returned from a loan spell at Brighton.

German giants Bayern Munich were interested in him but were unable to secure a deal, leaving Nottingham Forest to make a bid in the region of £30 million including add-ons for his services. However, the defender withdrew at the last minute, insisting he wanted to stay at Chelsea and fight for his position.

According to a report in the Sun, Chalobah has angered several Chelsea board members, and he is unlikely to play for the club in the near future.

There is also a possibility that Bayern Munich, where his former manager Thomas Tuchel currently serves as manager, will attempt to sign him in the summer. The English defender signed a new long-term contract with the club only a year ago, extending his stay until 2028. Therefore, a solution must be found that benefits both the player and the club.

Last year, after signing his new contract, Chalobah stated, “I’m ecstatic to have signed this agreement. Every time I put on the shirt, it’s been an honor. I am willing to do anything and everything for this club.

“As everyone knows I’ve been here from a young age and to continue here is every kid’s dream. Whenever I get the chance, I’ll give my all for the club and look for the future ahead.”

This weekend, Chelsea will face Bournemouth seeking their second league victory after losing to Nottingham Forest before the international break.
