After Moises Caicedo’s bid was rejected, Arsenal made a decision on signing Ibrahima Bamba.’
Arsenal are looking to add a midfielder before the transfer deadline on Tuesday.
According to reports, Arsenal has decided not to pursue Ibrahima Bamba this month. The Gunners are instead interested in signing the Italian midfielder in the summer.
Arsenal is looking for a midfielder before the deadline on Tuesday. Due to Mohamed Elneny’s injury, Mikel Arteta has considered a number of options.
The Premier League leaders have had a £60 million bid for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo rejected. Arsenal is likely to counter with a higher bid.
Bamba, on the other hand, is one of several players who have been linked with a move to the Emirates this week. His agent moved to refute reports that his client was set to join Arsenal.
However, reported interest in the player persists. According to Sport Italia, Arsenal would prefer to sign the 20-year-old at the end of the season rather than during this transfer window.

Serie A clubs Napoli, Bologna, and Atalanta are also interested in the player, who came through the Pro Vercelli academy. Bamba currently plays for Vitoria Guimaraes in Portugal and has only made 23 senior league appearances in his career.
Filipe Macedo Alves, Bamba’s agent, was in London this week. He claims, however, that the trip was not to discuss Bamba’s future.
O Jogo quoted Alves as saying: “It’s true that I was in London, but I am just arriving from Germany, where I was watching [Edmond] Tapsoba’s game. Bamba is not the only player I work with.
” He’s a player profile that is clearly of interest to many clubs, but today he is a Vitoria player and is only focused on Monday’s game in Chaves. The market is open, but I’m not going to feed rumours.”
Caicedo appears to be Arteta’s top target heading into the final days of the window. At his press conference this week, Arteta stated that signing a midfielder was high on his priority list.
He stated: “There are some concerns [about Elneny], especially as Mo never complains about anything but let’s see. We need some more cover in midfield ideally if we can, but in this market it is pretty complicated to do that.
“As I always say, the most important
nt thing is that we get the performances and the time on the pitch that we need with the players that we have available today that are already really good.”
