Arsenal Boss Arteta Admits to Being Thrilled About £27m Signing’s Performance

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated that he is thrilled to have Leandro Trossard in his team at the moment.

Arteta was speaking to the press this afternoon before of his team’s encounter against Trossard’s former club Brighton.

Arsenal will face championship rivals Manchester City again today.

That means they’ll know if they’ve paved the way for the Gunners to reclaim first place.

Mikel Arteta will understand that all his team can do now is win their next three games and apply pressure.

Manchester City are in fantastic form, and it’s difficult to imagine them relinquishing points at this time in the season.

They may, however, be focused on their Champions League semi-final versus Real Madrid.

Their opponents are struggling Everton, and after thrashing Arsenal’s opponents today, Brighton, 5-1, everything is possible.

It’s Leandro Trossard’s first appearance against Brighton since joining Arsenal in January, and Arteta has been praising him in the build-up.

He’ll be looking to get one over his former club in order to keep his new team’s slim title ambitions alive.

Arteta sings praises of Arsenal star Trossard

When asked about the £27 million signing’s influence at The Emirates, Arteta remarked, “I love having him in the squad, he’s been great.”

“You can see the contribution he’s made to the team, I’m delighted to have him.

“[He’s a] great character, I can bring him in and he can have a conversation with you.”

Trossard’s inclusion in the starting lineup today reflects how effectively he has adapted to Arteta’s methods since joining Arsenal.

Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have been two of the league’s greatest attacking performers this season.

They’ve been causing major difficulties for opposing full-backs week after week.

Trossard has stood up whenever he’s been given the opportunity and will know how this Brighton team will play better than anyone tonight.

Trossard recently returned Arteta’s praise and will want to do everything he can to assist Arsenal tonight.

In his brief time at the club, he’s been likened to Santi Cazorla, and if he can leave a similar legacy at The Emirates, he’ll be doing very well.
