Arsenal eye stunning deal as Arteta declares Juventus superstar his “number one target.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made Juventus and Italy winger Federico Chiesa his ‘number one objective’, according to reports.

Liverpool have previously been associated with Chiesa, and the Reds were linked with him again this week.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a great fan of the player, and Real Madrid is also interested.

Chiesa showed fans how good he is at Euro 2020, helping Italy win the tournament after some outstanding performances at club level.

The 25-year-old has recently recovered from a long-term knee injury suffered in January 2022. In November, he made his comeback in a 2-1 Champions League loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

Transfer Updates

Juventus are going through an extremely difficult spell at the moment and could be open to selling some of their star players in the summer.

Following an examination into prior transfer deals, the Old Lady was docked 15 points and now has an uphill battle to finish in the top four in Serie A.

As a result, Paul Pogba has been linked with a return to Manchester United, while Dusan Vlahovic’s future remains uncertain.

Vlahovic was a key target for Arsenal last year, and some Italian rumors indicate the Gunners still want to sign him; but, given the seasons Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are having, this deal seems exceedingly unlikely.

While a new striker is not on the horizon, Arteta hopes to strengthen his midfield and wide areas.

Arsenal made several bids to sign winger Mykhaylo Mudryk earlier this month before he joined Chelsea.

Following the loss of Mudryk, Arsenal recruited Leandro Trossard from Brighton, with the Belgian brought in to provide depth for Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.

Another winger could be bought during the summer transfer window, and who knows what kind of player Arsenal can lure if they can retain their Premier League championship.

Rumours linking a player like Chiesa to Arsenal would have been laughed off this time last year, but considering their great run and Juventus’ difficulties, it now feels very feasible.

Chiesa might be “one of the big sacrifices” made by Juventus, with the ‘likely’ lack of Champions League football expected to have a significant impact on their profitability.

Arsenal have ‘fully registered’ their interest in the Italy international with Arteta hoping to add one of the world’s best wingers to his squad.
