Arsenal has been given a European fixture advantage, while Liverpool is dealing with Manchester United and Manchester City.

Arsenal has had a lot of luck with the Premier League matches that come after their Champions League group stage fixtures, but Manchester United and Manchester City have challenging assignments.

Arsenal will compete in the Champions League for the first time in six years next season, and Mikel Arteta’s team has been rewarded with a favorable schedule that might make their comeback a happy one.

The Gunners learned their Premier League schedule on Thursday morning and would have been pleased to learn that they will begin their season against Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, and Fulham. Arteta and his teammates were also offered favorable schedules following their Champions League group games.

From September through December, Arteta’s team plays all six Premier League matches that immediately follow Champions League games at the Emirates Stadium. Manchester City and Manchester United each have three home games and three away games, with Newcastle having the most difficult schedule.

Eddie Howe’s side finished fourth to clinch a place in Europe’s elite club competition, but they may struggle in 2023/24. They only have two home games after Champions League group matches, and both are in the final two weeks of November and December, when their qualifying for the knockout stages may already be determined.

Arsenal will play every game beyond the Champions League group games at home, but they will face some difficult opponents. They host Tottenham in the North London Derby on September 23rd, following their first Champions League game on September 19th or 20th, and they host defending champions Manchester City a few days later.

Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last season, missing out on Champions League qualifying. However, they appear to face some difficult matchups surrounding their Europa League ties in 2023/24.

They play Wolves away before their first Europa League game of the season on Thursday, September 21. Jurgen Klopp’s team also travels to Tottenham on Saturday, September 30, before returning to the Europa League on Thursday, October 5, for a meeting against Brighton.

It’s worth mentioning that precise Champions League and Europa League fixtures have yet to be revealed, so travel plans and the complexity of the schedule remain unclear. Meanwhile, Premier League fixtures will be rescheduled to accommodate broadcasters and maintain manageable fixture calendars.
