Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued a warning to his players ahead of their title clash with Manchester City.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has conceded that the last title competition was hard, and he has warned his players to be ready to capitalize on any mistakes made by Manchester City. The Gunners are only one point behind Pep Guardiola’s men at the top of the Premier League, but a miracle is required to win the title, since the Sky Blues have a game in hand.

Arsenal led the Premier League for the majority of the season, but have dropped to second place at the worst possible time after picking up just three points in four games. City are now entirely in control of the title race, with Arsenal completely reliant on an unlikely slip-up.

The Citizens will play before the north Londoners this weekend, with their match against Everton starting at 2pm on Sunday. Arsenal will play Brighton later in the afternoon, and Arteta has stated that his players will keep an eye on the outcome in order to capitalize on any opportunities.

“For sure, before we go on the pitch, we know the result, and everybody will know it because it will spread out like this,” he stated. “Are we going to watch it? “I doubt it.”We need to focus on our preparation, which we’ve been doing for the last ten or fifteen games and nothing has changed. You have to keep an eye on what’s going on and have access to information, but we can only control the things we can control.

“When you have to win, win and win, we’ve been like that for the past three months, it’s extremely demanding because of the position that we’re facing and obviously City have been playing a lot of games as well.

“But that’s what we’re here for. It starts on Sunday again. Three games to go. This is the crucial one. We want to elevate our hopes and our enthusiasm to keep going because there’s still everything to play for.”

Arsenal has some reason to be optimistic. Everton are full of confidence after their 5-1 win over Brighton last week, and they have a lot to play for with Premier League survival on the line. With the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid just 72 hours away, City may be obliged to make a number of changes as well.

The Gunners, on the other hand, can only influence their own future and will be completely focused on beating Brighton if they are to have any chance of winning the title at the end of the season.
