Arsenal prepares for a massive signing after star rejects Real Madrid and informs Mikel Arteta he’s ready for a move to the Emirates.
According to sources, Arsenal are in pole position to sign Declan Rice from West Ham after the central midfielder rejected Real Madrid’s approaches and ‘given his word’ that he would be coming to the Emirates.
Rice is getting closer to departing West Ham. His contract with the Irons expires in the summer of 2024, and he refuses to sign an extension. As a result, it is in West Ham’s best interests to sell him for a large sum at the end of the current season rather than selling him for less later.
Chelsea have previously been viewed as the frontrunners to land Rice. This is because of him previously playing in their academy. Plus, he has a great relationship with Blues star Mason Mount.
Rice has been connected with Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool, among others.
However, Arsenal has emerged as the most probable team to sign the England international in recent weeks.

According to a recent Guardian article, Rice is considering joining Mikel Arteta’s team. And Arsenal has put him at the top of their summer desire list.
The Boot Room has now published an update on the situation, citing Spanish media reports. They think Real Madrid has recently expressed interest in Rice. Perhaps Carlo Ancelotti sees him as a replacement for Jude Bellingham, who is expected to join Liverpool.
Unfortunately for Real, there is little chance they will be able to get Rice. This is because he has pushed back their advances and is instead prioritising an Arsenal switch.
Declan Rice has informed Arsenal that he will be joining them.
To add to Arsenal fans’ excitement, Rice has supposedly ‘given his word’ to Arteta that he will join the Gunners.
He already has an agreement with the north London club. As a result, Arsenal must now reach an agreement with West Ham before the trade can be completed.
Fabrizio Romano has also shared his knowledge of Rice and the Arsenal rumors. The transfer guru was quizzed about Arsenal’s unsuccessful deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk during an interview on the House of Champions YouTube channel. He went on to say that shortly after Mudryk was confirmed as a Chelsea player, Arsenal officials met to discuss Rice.
Clearly, the likes of Edu and Arteta will be discussing how Rice fits into the Arsenal squad and what steps they should take to win the race for him.
Rice is not the only Premier League midfielder on Arsenal’s radar. They are expected to complete a midfield rebuild by signing both Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Everton’s Amadou Onana.
Rice, on the other hand, is a cut above both of those players. He is already the captain of West Ham United and a member of the England national squad. Over the previous few seasons, he has been one of the top midfielders in the Premier League. He would take Arsenal to the next level as a result of these elements.
