Arsenal Receives Triple Injury Hope as Oleksandr Zinchenko’s Training Absence Gets ‘Explained

The return of Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko from injury was accompanied by speculation about his absence from club photographs during the January training camp in Dubai.

Reports suggest that the club media refrained from releasing pictures of Zinchenko upon the request of manager Mikel Arteta, creating optimism about the fitness of three other teammates.

Oleksandr Zinchenko, the defender in question, faced doubts about his fitness during the January training camp in Dubai, where he was not featured in released photographs.

Zinchenko had been sidelined due to a calf problem, causing him to miss the New Year’s Eve match against Fulham and the subsequent FA Cup defeat to Liverpool.

However, he made a comeback in the recent game against Crystal Palace and is expected to be available for the upcoming Premier League match against Nottingham Forest.

Journalist Charlie Watts explained that the decision not to release pictures of Zinchenko during the training camp is a common practice employed by Arteta when there are injury concerns.

Watts emphasized that this tactic doesn’t definitively rule out the involvement of such players in the next game. He cited examples like Gabriel, another player not featured in recent pictures, and highlighted the uncertainty associated with Arsenal’s approach to such situations.

The Gunners are currently evaluating the fitness of defender Gabriel Magalhaes, who had to be substituted off nine minutes from time in the Crystal Palace match due to discomfort.

While not considered serious, Gabriel was not photographed in training this week, along with striker Gabriel Jesus, who also came off alongside Gabriel against Palace.

Both players’ absence from pictures initially didn’t indicate injury-related concerns.
Manager Arteta faces another injury worry concerning Declan Rice ahead of the match against Nottingham Forest. Rice, missing from this week’s training images, reportedly felt something in his thigh during the Crystal Palace game.

His inclusion in the upcoming match remains uncertain, although an official ruling out has not been confirmed yet.
