Chelsea has yet to determine Mason Mount’s future.

According to sources, Mason Mount has rejected Chelsea’s offer of a new contract and is unsatisfied with the terms presented. The England international’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the conclusion of the 2019-20 campaign.

Despite Chelsea’s £600 million shopping binge over the last two transfer windows, Mount has maintained a regular spot in the team. This season, he has started 19 of 21 Premier League games and appeared in all six Champions League group stage contests.

Despite Graham Potter’s estimation of Mount’s significance, Chelsea has yet to offer a contract extension that Mount finds acceptable. The Mail asserts that the two parties are financially far apart.

Mount is rumored to desire to treble his current salary to be on par with the club’s highest-paid players. The 24-year-current old’s weekly pay is £80,000.

Chelsea are unwilling to offer Mount the same salary as Raheem Sterling, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer and soon became one of the club’s highest-paid players. According to reports, Chelsea’s current offer to Mount is much less than Sterling’s salary.

Currently, negotiations are on hold, but they are likely to resume at some time. Chelsea will not want Mount to approach the last year of his contract with the possibility of leaving on a free transfer in 2024.

Mount is reportedly dissatisfied with Chelsea’s offer. The offensive midfielder joined the Blues when he was six years old and made his debut in 2019.

In 188 matches in all competitions, he has scored 33 goals and provided 37 assists. However, his long-term future is now uncertain.

In January, Chelsea focused aggressively on recruiting for offensive positions. They spent £88 million on Mykhaylo Mudryk and £29 million on Noni Madueke, in addition to loaning in Joao Felix and signing teenage attacker David Dauda Fofana.

Mount remained in the starting lineup for Friday’s match against Fulham despite the influx of new players. Local rivals held Graham Potter’s team to a scoreless draw in the offensive third despite his efforts.
