Cristiano Ronaldo’s advice to Anthony Elanga with Man Utd forward ‘open’ to transfer
The Manchester United teenager is now being linked with a loan switch away from Old Trafford, with rumours claiming that both Borussia Dortmund and Everton are interested.
Anthony Elanga is said to be considering quitting Manchester United this month, exactly one month after his former teammate and mentor Cristiano Ronaldo left.
Unlike Ronaldo, Elanga’s departure would be brief, as German giants Borussia Dortmund are said to have studied the potential of signing the Swede as part of a loan move before the January transfer window shuts, according to talkSPORT.
Under the new regime, the youthful winger has finding it a little more difficult to get game time manager Erik ten Hag than he did under the Dutchman’s predecessor, Ralf Rangnick, who loved Elanga.

The Bundesliga giants aren’t the only ones interested in taking Elanga on loan, with Everton also keeping an eye on the issue, despite the fact that their previous United loanee, Donny van de Beek, didn’t exactly pull up any trees.
Elanga’s United career began in remarkable way, which he attributes to Ronaldo’s influence and coaching.
“It’s incredibly helpful [to have Ronaldo as a mentor] since I go to training quite early and see him there,” Elanga told United’s official website in March of last year. If we played a game the day before, we talk about it.

Suggesting they lack the desire to succeed, the Portugal skipper claimed: “The hunger. They [young players] have things more easily. Everything is easy. ” They don’t suffer, they don’t care. I don’t mean just Man United, but all teams. They are not the same as my generation.” Elanga responded to the claim and was hardly scathing in his reply, instead adding that he “understands” where Ronaldo was coming from.
“Cristiano talks about young players in general,” the 20-year-old told Aftonbladet. “We are a new generation. I am always 100 per cent focused on what I am doing, but I can understand what he is saying. “There are a lot of phones and a lot of technology. It’s quite easy for young players to get distracted and lose focus. I always focus 100 per cent on my job and what I do. Young players at United are listening, but I can understand what he is saying.”
