Enzo Fernandez has impressed in a Chelsea shirt since his record-breaking deal from Benfica on deadline day, but he has yet to be part of a winning team.

Gabriel Agbonlahor, a former Aston Villa striker, has stated that he is concerned about Chelsea and claims that Enzo Fernandez “looks irritated” at his teammates.

Graham Potter’s side has won only one of their last 11 games in all competitions, including a 2-0 loss to London rivals Tottenham on Sunday. It was a result that left the Blues in 10th place and 14 points behind the Champions League berths with 14 games remaining.

In reality, the Blues are now 13 points ahead of 20th-placed Southampton in the Premier League table, with Chelsea being 13 points ahead of the Saints. Potter has come under growing pressure from the club’s supporters due to their awful run of form and Agbonlahor is concerned about the way the Blues are heading.

“I’m concerned about the players’ body language,” Agbonlahor remarked on talkSPORT. Havertz contributes nothing; he can’t produce like a 10 or hold up play like a 9.

“Sterling runs all game but doesn’t get the ball. Enzo, who’s been incredible, looks annoyed at his teammates. There’s just no connection between them.”

Fernandez has made five appearances since joining from Benfica for £106 million in the January transfer window, drawing two and losing three. On February 3, he made his debut in a 0-0 tie against Fulham before producing his first assist in a 1-1 draw against West Ham.

Chelsea added seven new players in January, but Potter hasn’t been able to get the most out of all of them despite their £300 million shopping spree. Fans have been harsh on the 47-year-old, but pundits have also weighed in on the Blues’ woes.

Following the Blues’ defeat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Paul Merson gave a stinging assessment on Potter. He claimed that Chelsea’s style of play was extremely slow, in stark contrast to how his Brighton club played during his tenure as manager.

Ask quoted by Sky Sports, the Arsenal legend said: “They never looked like scoring at Spurs. I could have played for Chelsea on Sunday when they had the ball because it was so slow – and I’m 54! I can’t run around anymore but I can pass the ball and I could have played in the team. It was slow, sideways, backwards, I can play like that at my age.”

Chelsea will play Leeds on Saturday before hosting Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 on March 8. That might be a landmark evening in Potter’s Blues career following his appointment in September.
