FA’s position on on possible Erling Haaland ban revealed following live TV F-bomb

The Football Association will not investigate Manchester City forward Erling Haaland after his live TV gaffe on Sunday evening.

The 22-year-old interrupted a live Sky Sports interview with Jack Grealish after City won their third Premier League title in a row, before dropping an expletive in an innocent manner towards his teammate.

A grinning Erling Haaland rushed over to Grealish and exclaimed, “I f****** love you, you know that,” forcing Sky Sports to apologize to their TV audience for the language used.

Following the incident, several Manchester United fans have suggested on social media that the FA should intervene and maybe ban Erling Haaland from the FA Cup Final on June 3.

However, disciplinary chiefs at the Football Association, according to Martin Lipton of The Sun, do not believe that any action is warranted and have no intentions to probe Erling Haaland on the topic.

According to the report, swearing during media appearances does not automatically result in charges, and any such sanctions would only be imposed if the FA judged the circumstances and tone were serious enough to warrant action.

All instances are handled on a case-by-case basis, and the most recent incident involving the Manchester City attacker is said to have been deemed unworthy of a probe.

City will need their star center-forward to be at the top of his game in the final weeks of the season as Pep Guardiola and his team chase a historic triple with two cup finals on the horizon.

The Premier League champions face Manchester United in the first Manchester derby FA Cup final on June 3 at Wembley Stadium, followed by a trip to Istanbul a week later.

Manchester City will travel to Turkey for their second Champions League final, where they will face Serie A giants Inter, as Pep Guardiola attempts to clinch the club’s first UEFA title.
