“Going to be crucial” – Fabrizio Romano shares “important” Chelsea and Moises Caicedo update
Chelsea’s interest in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moisés Caicedo to Graham Potter’s squad at Stamford Bridge might be jeopardized if the midfielder signs with his new agents “in the next few days,” according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
This month, the Blues hope to boost their middle-of-the-park alternatives.
Chelsea have tested the waters in their pursuit of Caicedo, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, by launching a £65 million approach for the Ecuadorian midfielder.
However, the same writer recently told GiveMeSport that it will take a price of £75 million or more to persuade Brighton to sell one of its prized assets.

Romano revealed earlier in the month that Caicedo will be represented by agents Manuel Sierra and Ali Barat as the 21-year-old prepares for his next move, whilst transfer insider Dean Jones has suggested to GMS that Chelsea could make an approach for the South American star this week, as the transfer window enters its final weeks.
What has Romano said about Chelsea and Caicedo?
Romano told GiveMeSport: “It’s important to mention that Caicedo will have new agents in the next few days and this is going to be crucial to understanding what happens for his future.”

Fantastic as a defensive midfielder, fantastic as a box-to-box midfielder. The future leader of the Ecuadorian national team. 🇪🇨 pic.twitter.com/9sqJEfj0Ek
Caicedo – who has been described as a “future leader” by Football Talent Scout Jacek Kulig – has the potential to be an excellent long-term addition to Chelsea’s midfield, with both Jorginho and N’Golo Kanté’s contracts due to expire at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The 28-cap Ecuador international has bagged just one goal and provided a solitary assist in 17 Premier League appearances this season, but it’s his defensive capabilities which have attracted the west London club to his signature.
