Harry Maguire Sends a Clear Signal to Erik ten Hag Regarding Summer Transfer Plans at Man Utd

Manchester United could lose Harry Maguire this summer.

Despite speculation that he may leave Manchester United in the summer, Harry Magure says he is solely focused on winning two more trophies as captain. The United defender maintained his impressive form with a 2-0 win over Everton, his 10th consecutive victory dating back to September.

When asked if another part-time United season under Erik ten Hag was sustainable, he hinted that he would not be content to be an understudy indefinitely.

“I feel like I’m in a good mental and physical place, and every time I’ve started a football game, I’ve done myself justice and done well,” he said. But I’m also aware that we have some fantastic centre-backs at this club. We have four top international center-backs capable of playing at the highest level.

“I’m not going to stand here and say I love or like it. I don’t. I want to play in every game, as I have for the past eight years. I also have to respect the manager and his decisions, as well as the strength of the competition at centre-back at this club. That is what I believe. ” When I get my chance, I want to perform, win, and most importantly, have an impact on the game for the team. But, of course, I want to participate in every game. Listen, we’ve got a crazy season coming up. My mentality is that I want to bring the club two more trophies. I enjoyed lifting the Carabao Cup and hope to do so again.

“I’m going to work as hard as I can in training, and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of starts between now and the end of the season.” It’s not like I haven’t begun. It’s not like I’ve been shut out or excluded. I’m still playing a lot of games, but as a footballer, I obviously want to play every game.”

Marcus Rashford’s slow limping progress around the perimeter of Old Trafford in the 80th minute of this game perfectly demonstrated the dangers of Ten Hag’s men fighting on three fronts. And there is no doubt that the blizzard of games presents opportunity for Maguire, who would be in high demand if he became available in the summer.

Maguire joked that he didn’t want to talk about his run for fear of “jinxing it,” but he looked at ease alongside Lisandro Martinez, who was either rested or replaced by Raphael Varane.

“I’m pleased on a personal level to assist the team in keeping another clean sheet and winning the football match, but it’s a big deal as a group,” he said.

Everton produced little to worry Maguire and even less to worry David De Gea. Jordan Pickford had to be at his best on the other end, with Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial the two out of 29 shots and 11 on target to beat him either side of the break.

Given Rashford’s injury, Martial’s return appears to be timely, as does Christian Eriksen’s, who came on for the first time since January after suffering an ankle injury.

Ten Hag will need all hands on the pumps with United’s schedule potentially stretching to 16 games between now and the end of May if they reach the Europa League and FA Cup Finals.

Maguire has committed to the team effort until at least the summer.
