He Knows’ – Rasmus Hojlund Sends a Message to His Manchester United Teammate Marcus Rashford
Tuesday night, Marcus Rashford assisted Rasmus Hojlund on his first goal in Man United’s loss to Galatasaray.
Rasmus Hojland of Manchester United has told Marcus Rashford that he will be an option whenever they play together.
Tuesday night in the Champions League, Hojlund scored twice against Galatasaray, but the Turkish team left Manchester with the victory after responding to every setback and scoring a late winning goal.
Mauro Icardi made it 3-2 for Galatasaray in the 81st minute after missing a penalty that resulted in Casemiro’s dismissal, and the result relegated United to their sixth loss in 10 games this season.
After scoring a pair of goals but ultimately losing the game, Hojlund spoke with conflicting emotions after the final whistle.
In his post-match interview with MUTV, the club’s broadcaster inquired about his first goal, which was scored by a powerful header off a cross from Rashford into the box by the young center forward.
Hojlund referred to it as a “signature Rasmus goal” and sent Rashford a message about being available to link up on the field.
“It’s about getting in there [the box],” he said. “I always try to get into dangerous positions and today I got the ball three times, if you count the offside as well, so yeah, I’ve been bought to score goals and I’m happy to get two more today.
“But again, if we talk about Marcus, we try to talk to each other and he knows I’m going to be there. He knows I can keep up with his pace when we go on the counter and we saw a glimpse of that today.
“It was a good feeling [scoring at the Stretford End], it was an incredible goal. I like to call that a signature Rasmus goal, running a lot on the left side, so yeah, it was nice.”
On Saturday, United will face Brentford in the Premier League.
