Jurgen Klopp Receives Directive: Liverpool ‘Must Accept’ New £215 Million Mohamed Salah Bid

Jurgen Klopp has already been informed that Liverpool’must accept’ a new £215 million bid for Mohamed Salah. Despite Klopp’s insistence that Salah will not be leaving Liverpool, Al-Ittihad are still planning to make a new and improved offer for his services this week.

Before Thursday’s Saudi transfer deadline, Al-Ittihad is expected to make a world-record offer of £215 million to Liverpool for Mohamed Salah.

Salah, 31, has been heavily linked with a move to the Middle East in recent weeks, and the Reds rejected a £150 million bid from Al-Ittihad during the final hours of the English transfer window last week.

Jurgen Klopp has stated that his talisman is not for sale at any price and that there is no chance that the Egyptian superstar will leave Anfield this summer, but that hasn’t stopped Al-Ittihad from preparing a new and improved offer.

Before Thursday, Salah’s suitors are expected to submit a new bid that, with add-ons, will exceed the current world record transfer fee. It is believed such a proposal would be worth around £215m to the Reds.

Anfield legend Jamie Carragher admitted last week that his former club could not afford to reject a bid in excess of £200 million for Mohamed Salah’s services, despite his reluctance to consider the possibility of selling Salah.

Carragher told Sky Sports: “When you look at what Harry Kane went for, about £100m, and he is a year or two younger but he only had a year to go on his deal at Spurs. Two years remain for Salah, who takes excellent care of himself. Liverpool will demand more than the player’s current market value in order to sell him at this time.Without the Saudi market, his value would be closer to £100 million, not £150 million. But why did they wait until this point? Why, if they wanted him so badly and were willing to spend the money, didn’t they do it six months ago, when they could have gotten him?

“It’s up to Liverpool and Salah; he might not want to leave. Even if they love him and don’t want him to leave, I believe there is a point at which they cannot refuse £200 million if that number continues to rise.”

It remains to be seen if Liverpool would be able to withstand a world-record offer for Salah, but the fact that they would be unable to replace him until January would be a significant caveat to any potential deal.

Salah signed a new three-year contract with Liverpool in the summer of 2017 to end rumors about his future following Real Madrid transfer rumors. Since his 2017 move to Anfield, the forward has scored 188 goals in only 309 appearances for the Reds.
