Kai Havertz Speaks Out as he Addresses Transfer Rumors Amidst Reports of £65m Arsenal Medical

Kai Havertz’s move from Chelsea is nearing completion, and he has now posted on social media in preparation for his Arsenal physical.

Kai Havertz has provided an update on his present activities following the completion of a £65 million transfer from Chelsea to Arsenal. The two London clubs had been negotiating for several days before reaching an agreement that will see him transfer from Stamford Bridge to Emirates Stadium this summer.

Real Madrid most likely sparked Arsenal’s interest, as Carlo Ancelotti’s team initially saw him as a Karim Benzema replacement. Initial negotiations revealed his asking price, which prompted Mikel Arteta to make his move, with Havertz extremely open to the transfer across the capital.

The 24-year-old has struggled since joining Bayern Munich for £75 million in 2020, with his best position still largely unclear little under three years later. He started at the top of the Blues’ attack in 2022/23, although he only scored nine goals in 47 games.

With Chelsea needing to balance their books and sell a few of players to address any difficulties with their overcrowded roster, Havertz is not the only name to leave. Exits are imminent for Kalidou Koulibaly, Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy, and Mateo Kovacic, while N’Golo Kante’s departure has already been confirmed, with Havertz sending a message to his former teammate on Saturday.

“Was an absolute honor to play with you and all the best in the future,” the Germany international wrote on Instagram. Havertz is expected to have a medical overseas this weekend, and if all goes as planned, he will become Arteta’s first signing of the summer.

Havertz has been spending time with former teammate Andreas Christensen and Kovacic, who has already had his Manchester City physical. Havertz posted a photo of himself with that duo on social media with the phrase “3 amigos.”

In terms of attacking departures, Havertz might be joined by Mason Mount, who is the key summer target for Manchester United. Old Trafford’s latest offer was for £50 million up front with £5 million in add-ons, but it was rejected, forcing Chelsea to react with a £65 million package deal.

According to a fresh story from The Times, the Red Devils’ patience may have been stretched, with Erik ten Hag reportedly focusing on other midfield targets. Brighton’s Moises Caicedo is at the top of that list, and the Seagulls are demanding close to £100 million for him.

However, according to CBS Sports, a deal worth £80 million plus £10 million in add-ons for Caicedo ‘appears possible’. According to the report, individuals close to Caicedo believe their client should not be paid more than what Real Madrid spent for Aurelien Tchouameni (£86m).
