Kevin De Bruyne gives an honest assessment of Arsenal’s Premier League title challenge.
Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has praised Arsenal’s 2022/23 season.
Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City has issued a message to Arsenal and the rest of the Premier League after his team won their fifth title in the last six years.
The Gunners had led the league for the bulk of the season but experienced a downturn in form over the past two months, with City taking full advantage and being named champions over the weekend after Mikel Arteta’s team fell 1-0 to Nottingham Forest. De Bruyne has now declared that victory will never weary the Citizens.
“We like to win, and it never gets old,” the Belgian international remarked. “We’ve won a lot in the past, but we want to keep winning.”
“I’m sure the future will be the same. It’s incredible, to win three times in a row. It’s hard work, but we deserve it. The hunger is there, the mentality is good and it’s a good group.
“We just want to play good football. Pep makes sure the group stays hungry and the group is very humble.”
De Bruyne also praised Arsenal for their early-season form, which saw them accumulate 50 points before the halfway point of the season. “The league doesn’t lie – we were the best,” he went on to say.
“Arsenal were incredible – especially in the first part of the season. In the end though, we deserved it. We came back and we’ve won a lot of games.”
