Kieran Tierney Expresses Discontent and Rumors Swirl of a Potential Move Closer to Home

In terms of starts, the Celtic fan has had a rough season, with the Scotland international generally playing second fiddle to former Manchester City player Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Kieran Tierney is ‘not happy’ at Arsenal, according to David Hiller, and wants to go closer to his family.

In terms of starts, the Celtic fan has had a rough season, with the Scotland international generally playing second fiddle to former Manchester City player Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined the club last summer. Even when the versatile ace was ruled out for the season’s last games, Mikel Arteta chose Jakub Kiwior over KT in the starting lineup.

He received the final 10 minutes of the final day demolition job over Wolves, thereby ending the season and possibly his Arsenal career, with Hiller claiming he wants to be closer to home and that ‘you can tell a mile off’ he is unhappy in North London.

Newcastle and Eddie Howe have been heavily linked with a bid for the full-back, and now that they have clinched Champions League football, that might make the 25-year-old even more appealing. Hiller believes he would be a ‘dream’ at St James’ Park and would be the genuine Tierney the Gunners had hoped to see in red and white.

He told the Highbury Squad podcast: “We were talking about disappointments, and I will say there were a couple of players who had the potential to do a lot better this season who didn’t I will say Kieran Tierney, he could’ve worked harder at being happy, he could’ve given a bit more.

“Tierney’s situation is nothing to do with playing a different way or adapting his game. I’m telling you, the boy is not happy, you can tell it a mile off.

“He wants to be with his family, he’s a home boy. I truly, honestly believe I can see it in Tierney’s face, he loves Arsenal and playing for the club, but his heart is somewhere else, where his family is.

“There’s a club up there who have just gotten into the Champions League who aren’t far away from where his family is, and he’d be a dream at a place like that. Then you’d see the lad we all expected to go and progress at Arsenal.

“I’m not writing his Arsenal career off, but it’s about happy players.”
