Liverpool’s team might look like this next season after four new arrivals and seven departures.

Liverpool’s team could look very different next season as they attempt to reclaim the Premier League title.

It’s no secret that Liverpool needs to make changes this summer, and Jurgen Klopp has already had to say goodbye to Roberto Firmino, James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who all left as free agents. They will need to be replaced, but others may follow them out of Anfield. Express Sport looks at how Liverpool’s squad could look ahead into next season’s first game.

Goalkeepers: Alisson, VERBRUGGEN

Caoimhin Kelleher appears to be on his way out of Liverpool this summer, with the excellent goalkeeper vying for a starting spot elsewhere. Clubs will still be required to reach Liverpool’s asking price, and if this occurs, a replacement will be required.

Bart Verbruggen, a young Dutch goalkeeper, has been widely connected with a move to Merseyside and might be the exact type of target to come in as an understudy to Alisson.

Defenders: Alexander-Arnold, Ramsey, Van Dijk, Konate, Matip, Gomez, COLWILL, Robertson, Tsimikas

Liverpool’s defense was far from stellar this season, and Klopp will want to address it quickly. Keeping everyone fit will be critical, but it appears that another center defender will be signed.

Liverpool’s top aim appears to be Chelsea’s Levi Colwill, though the west London club is set to put up a fight in discussions. Liverpool would almost certainly hope to unload Nathaniel Phillips, who has struggled to break into Klopp’s team on a consistent basis.

Midfielders: Thiago, Bajcetic, Henderson, Jones, Fabinho, Elliott, BARELLA, MAC ALLISTER

The midfield is clearly the area where the most alterations are required, with two headline signings considered as the bare minimum. With Stefan Bajcetic due to return from injury in pre-season, it may feel like a new signing at the start of next season.

However, money will have to be spent, with Alexis MacAllister considered as the most likely early-season acquisition. Mason Mount has also been mentioned, although Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella may be a better fit for Klopp’s side and provide something different.

Attackers: Salah, Nunez, Gakpo, Jota, Diaz

Firmino’s departure is partly due to Liverpool’s increased attacking depth with the acquisition of Cody Gakpo in January. Fabio Carvalho may need to go on loan to acquire experience, since he will face a tough battle for more minutes next season.

With Luis Diaz, Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, and Darwin Nunez all competing to start, Klopp’s challenge will be to keep all of his attackers pleased. However, having a plethora of options to pick from will give Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp a dilemma.
