Manchester City have revealed a new shirt design for the Emirates FA Cup and Champions League finals.

Manchester City’s shirts for the forthcoming FA Cup and Champions League finals will bear the insignia of the club’s official charity, it has been confirmed.

Pep Guardiola and his team begin a potentially historic two-week stretch on Saturday afternoon, when they face bitter city rivals Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Following their match at Wembley, they will travel to Istanbul and the Ataturk Olympic Stadium for the UEFA Champions League final, where they will face Serie A heavyweights Inter for the chance to capture their first trophy in the competition.

Manchester City have revealed that their match shirts for the two meetings would contain the insignia of their official Club charity – City in the Community – to magnify the organization’s tremendous work to a global audience.

“Our Club charity, City in the Community, will feature on the back of our FA Cup and Champions League final shirts to help raise awareness of the charity to a global audience,” Manchester City said in a statement posted this week on their club website.Founded in 1986, the mission of CITC is to encourage city youngsters to live healthier lives via football. Our programs assist people around Greater Manchester by focusing on physical and emotional well-being, while also creating healthy futures and communities.

“During the 2021/22 campaign, the charity delivered 17 programs to 19,119 people aged two to 79, totaling over 22,000 community sessions and averaging 29 hours per participant.”

“This season, CITC has launched a new fundraising initiative – Healthy Goals – to support its purpose of empowering healthier lives through football. Funds raised will uplift the physical and mental health of local young people by creating new community football pitches in Manchester, where the charity’s youth-led programmes will be delivered.”

Manchester City have declared that they will match all donations to the ‘Healthy Goals’ program made until the fundraising window expires in September 2023 as part of their statement regarding the improvements made to their shirts for the two upcoming finals at Wembley and in Istanbul.

The City Football Group has declared that it will contribute a maximum of £125,000 (GBP) to City in the Community through this campaign, or a total of £500,000 (GBP) to all City Football Group associated charities participating in the campaign, whichever comes first.

Manchester City will face Manchester United in the FA Cup final on Saturday 3 June at 15:00 (BST) at Wembley Stadium, while the Champions League final versus Inter will take place on Saturday 10 June at 20:00 (BST) at Ataturk Stadium.
