Manchester United will try to finish the season on a high when they play bitter rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final on Saturday at Wembley Stadium.

It marks the first time in the competition’s 152-year history that the two Manchester clubs have played in the championship match.

With City still on track for the Treble this season, there is much more at risk than simply the silverware.

Pep Guardiola’s team has already won the Premier League and will face Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

Only United’s great 1998-1999 team has won all three competitions in the same season, and Erik ten Hag will be anxious to keep that record.

City smashed United 6-3 at the Etihad earlier this season in the Premier League before the Red Devils got their vengeance with a 2-1 win at Old Trafford later in the season.

Ten Hag will be looking for a similar result on Saturday as he attempts to complete his first season at United with two major trophies, having already won the Carabao Cup in February’s final against Newcastle.

United will wear a different uniform for the FA Cup final.

According to the Daily Mail, Ten Hag will stick to the ‘Wembley template’ that worked for the win over Newcastle and the FA Cup semi-final triumph against Brighton.

United will travel into London on Friday, staying at the same hotel and training at the same facilities.

To avoid clashing with City’s first-choice blue and white colors, United will have to wear black shorts instead of white, along with red shirts and black socks.

Ten Hag’s team will use the same locker room as on prior occasions, with United supporters seated in the east half of Wembley.

City are heavy favorites going into the game, but Ten Hag feels his team is capable of pulling off a massive upset.

“It’s really enjoyable to watch Manchester City, but we have to stop them and make it our game,” Ten Hag stated.

“It’s really enjoyable to watch Manchester City, but we have to stop them and make it our game,” said Ten Hag.

“We want to win that cup. We know it’s going to be tough because we’re playing probably against the best team in the world in this moment, but we proved we can beat them so we have to go again. If we have great belief then anything is possible.

“The rivalry is logical and normal on both sides, but in the end you have to respect each other.

“Of course, on Saturday we will fight each other. It’s a big game, the FA Cup final. Any game between United and City is huge but when it’s a final it’s special.”
