Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Liverpool are all vying for a place in the Champions League.

Marcus Rashford was unavailable for Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

During Friday’s pre-match press conference, Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag confirmed the 25-year-old was a doubt due to a leg injury.

Rasford’s absence was confirmed against Wolves when Man United’s starting XI was revealed at 2 p.m., and ten Hag is unsure when he will return.

“I can’t tell in this moment and as I say, it’s not my focus point in this moment,” said the Dutchman. ”I hope [he will be back soon]. Of course. And he will do everything that can be done.

“The medical staff is working hard on it, but I am focused, and my team are focusing, on this game.”

After a six-game winning streak, Liverpool are on the tails of both Manchester United and Newcastle United in the race for Champions League qualifying.

Jurgen Klopp’s side, who face Leicester City on Monday night, are four points behind Manchester United and Newcastle, despite having a game in hand.

Currently, Eddie Howe’s team needs six points from their final three games to guarantee a top-four finish. This week, United hosts Brighton and Leicester City before traveling to Chelsea on the last day of the season.

“Every time we play at home is an opportunity to win because of the conditions, the arena, the support, the confidence,” Howe stated after yesterday’s 2-2 draw at Leeds United. This season, we’ve done exceptionally well at home. We enjoy playing there.

“We go into those two games with belief we can get the job done but it’s never that easy, and that showed today. Leeds, with a new manager and style of play that is very difficult to play against, and a crowd that were in the game made it a really tough match for us.”
