Manchester United’s Fred makes a daring prediction regarding Alejandro Garnacho after scoring against West Ham
On Wednesday, Manchester United advanced in the FA Cup, with goals from Fred and Alejandro Garnacho.
Fred believes Manchester United kid Alejandro Garnacho will develop into one of the world’s top players.
Garnacho won the FA Youth Cup with the Under-18s last season and made his first-team debut at the conclusion of the season, but he’s forced his way into Erik ten Hag’s plans since his arrival.
Ten Hag is taking his time with the 18-year-old, and he’s been given opportunity to shine on the left flank.
On Wednesday night, Garnacho began in that position against West Ham in the fifth round of the FA Cup, and he scored a late goal to ultimately win the game for United, which Fred was asked about after full-time.
Fred commended Garnacho for his outstanding performance and predicted that he will become one of the top players in the world.
“Garnacho had a really excellent game tonight, with a good goal,” Fred said, according to MUTV. “He’s already a nice player, a young guy, and he will undoubtedly be one of the top players in the world, but he played well today and he needs to keep going.”
Fred was also asked about his team’s ability to come from behind in games, and he emphasized the significance of belief in the locker room.
“I’m proud to be part of this squad because everyone is ready to play in the game,” he added. “A big win today, we played very well and we had to come back after 1-0 down, to come back and win this game is important.
“It’s difficult [to come from behind], sometimes if we’re 1-0 down we need to keep going, keep our discipline. We did that in the last games [Barcelona] and today as well, so the squad is important, the players [substitutions] can change the game
“We always need to believe, we have a good team, strong players on the front and in the back, so we need to believe every game. We conceded a goal today but we knew we would score because our front is too strong.”
