Mason Greenwood Facing the Axe: Manchester United’s Decision Finally Made

Journalist Dean Jones has indicated that Manchester United outcast Mason Greenwood would be unwelcome at any other English club amid speculation about his future.

What is the most recent Mason Greenwood news?

The Sun claims that Greenwood could be offered an opportunity to extend his career at Juventus, with a long-term loan contract being mentioned as a possibility.

The 21-year-old has not played for the team since last year owing to rape and assault claims, which were dropped earlier this year. Greenwood has been practicing away from Manchester United’s Carrington complex on his own, while Juventus, Roma, and AC Milan are still interested in him.

According to the Mirror, he is still suspended by Manchester United while the club conducts an internal inquiry. Following the announcement of his charges being dropped, Manchester United issued the following statement: “Manchester United notes the Crown Prosecution Service’s decision that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped.” The club will now conduct its own investigation before deciding on the next steps. We will not say further until that process is completed.”

Greenwood isn’t expected to have a future at Old Trafford, and any decision on this will be made by the club rather than management.

Speaking to Football FanCast, writer Jones said that Greenwood may go abroad since the ‘backlash’ from Greenwood signing for another team in England would be massive.

“It would be really interesting if Juve went down this route,” Jones told FFC. Greenwood will not be accepted at any English clubs in the foreseeable future, and I believe there will be a backlash if anyone simply tries to sign him. So, you know, there’s definitely an element of travelling abroad that would suit him if it were possible.”

What is Manchester United’s next step?

Off-field issues will be handled by Manchester United’s hierarchy, allowing manager Erik Ten Hag to concentrate on the work at hand on the field.

The Red Devils are now fourth in the Premier League table, one point ahead of Liverpool in fifth; however, they have played one game fewer than their bitter rivals.

Manchester United’s final four league games are against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth, Chelsea, and Fulham before facing Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley in early June with a chance to win another trophy.

Ten Hag will be completely focused on ensuring that his team finishes this term with a bang, and will leave matters outside his control to whomever they may concern.
