Mauricio Pochettino Provides an Update on Moises Caicedo’s Injury

The goals scored by Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja in quick succession in the first half of eighty-two earned Chelsea a much-needed and well-deserved 2-0 victory at Fulham on Monday evening. A duration of eighty-two seconds. Monday evening at Craven Cottage, Chelsea doubled the number of goals they scored in the entire month of September in a chaotic minute and a half.

Blues fans could hardly believe their good fortune. They could not believe what they saw at their rivals’ west London location. Mykhailo Mudryk expertly finished to give the visitors the lead 82 seconds before Armando Broja’s somewhat fortuitous goal made it 2-0.

Mauricio Pochettino told Sky Sports at the end of the game, “It’s vital that we build our confidence and trust in ourselves.” The performance was excellent, and we ultimately received what we deserved.

It was indeed a crucial victory for Chelsea, who now have momentum heading into this weekend’s trip to face Burnley in the north. They can use Monday night’s performance and result as a springboard of sorts.

It was the first time since May 2021 that Chelsea defeated a team ranked higher than them in the Premier League table. This must be the beginning of something.
Caicedo injury apprehension
Moises Caicedo was spectacular for Chelsea against Fulham. It was possibly his best performance in the blue jersey to date, but he caused some concern when he left the field late in the game after colliding with Willian.

At the time it looked more like an impact injury for Caicedo after a heavy hit of both legs into each other. However, the Ecuadorian international was observed walking through a west London tunnel with heavy strapping wrapped around his left knee. Nevertheless, he was able to traverse the tunnel on his own.

We have yet to determine the severity of Caicedo’s injury, but Chelsea will be hoping it was an impact injury and he was substituted as a precaution. Now that the Blues have ample time to prepare for their trip to Turf Moor, they will be hoping that Caicedo can recover in time for the Lancashire match.
