The Argentine coach is scheduled to be announced as the club’s new manager at the start of this week, after finally agreeing to a three-year contract.

Pochettino will be entrusted with cutting a very bloated team, with the new owners spending approximately £600 million on new signings in the last year.

Madueke is one of them, having joined from PSV in a £28.5 million deal in January.

The 21-year-old worked under Pochettino at Tottenham for four years in the club’s academy before leaving due to a lack of a pathway into the first squad and possibilities.

Madueke, on the other hand, appears to be unconcerned about that today, with the winger enthusiastic about the idea of working under Pochettino.

When asked about the Argentine’s impending appointment at Stamford Bridge, Madueke responded on Sunday, ‘I think he is a terrific manager.’He has played in major leagues all over the world and had a huge success in the Premier League. I’m excited to collaborate with him and learn from him.’

‘Just coherence and pulling in the correct way,’ Madueke concluded, reflecting on what Chelsea need to do to turn around a poor season in which they finished 12th.

‘I think next season we need to go back to basics.

‘The new manager needs to come in and everyone needs to get behind him in training for him and Chelsea to be successful and there’s no reason why we can’t be with the talent in his squad.’

Speaking about his own first half-season at Chelsea, Madueke posted on social media: ‘Thank you Chelsea for making me feel at home from the very first minute.

‘Next season will be different. I’m certain. Success is non-negotiable and is what you guys deserve. Take care and see you guys at the Bridge soon.’
