Pochettino Reportedly Chooses Not to Retain Two Chelsea Players, According to Fabrizio Romano

After the formal announcement of Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s new manager, Fabrizio Romano has revealed some fascinating Chelsea transfer news.

The new Blues manager appears to have already opted to return Joao Felix and Denis Zakaria to their parent clubs after spending this season on loan at Stamford Bridge.

Zakaria joined Chelsea from Juventus in the summer but has made few appearances under any of their managers, and it’s not unexpected that Pochettino has no intentions for him.

Meanwhile, Romano commented on Felix’s situation on YouTube, with the Portugal international returning to Atletico Madrid after a disappointing loan spell in west London since signing on loan in January.

According to Romano, this decision came as a surprise because Chelsea were satisfied with Felix and the player was happy with the club, but Pochettino looks to have been key, as he wishes to focus on Christopher Nkunku in that position.

According to Romano, Felix will now be made available by Atletico, giving other clubs the opportunity to join him on a permanent basis.

As a result, Juventus will need to make plans to accommodate Zakaria’s comeback.

Spylax verdict

In many aspects, Juventus’ season has been a disaster, and our loan players are failing to make an impression away from the club.

We need to start working on getting most of them out of the club again, and we may have to cancel certain contracts as well.

Denis Zakaria, a Chelsea midfielder, has played in only seven Premier League games in 2022/2023, appearing in seven and playing 413 minutes. He has started five of their 38 games and has come on as a substitute on two occasions.

Zakaria last appeared in a competition game on April 15, when he played 74 minutes for Chelsea in a 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Last season, Zakaria appeared in nine Serie A games for Juventus, scoring one goal and assisting on another.
