Pochettino Sends Clear Message to Chelsea Board Following Disappointing Everton Loss
Following Chelsea’s disappointing 2-0 loss to Everton, head coach Mauricio Pochettino has conveyed a clear message to the club’s board, emphasizing the need for improvement in the squad and urging spending in the upcoming January transfer window.

Pochettino expressed his disappointment with the team’s lack of clinical finishing in front of goal, stating that football is about scoring goals, and Chelsea must address this issue.

Despite Chelsea’s significant spending of over £400 million on new signings in Pochettino’s first window in charge, the Argentine believes that more improvement is necessary, especially in terms of ruthlessness in front of goal.

The recent defeat at Everton marked Chelsea’s third loss in four games, dropping them to 12th in the Premier League table.
Pochettino highlighted the importance of analyzing the reality of the team’s performance, acknowledging that improvements are needed.

“Football is about scoring goals and we were not clinical in front of goal.
“I’m really, really disappointed. We didn’t get the point we deserved. I think we were better but we didn’t get what we wanted.

“This was a game to play and to win. It’s a problem we need to check. We need to analyse the reality. We need to talk and to try to improve in the next transfer market.”

Pochettino made four changes to the team compared to the previous game, but injuries and an overall lack of effectiveness in front of goal contributed to the disappointing result.

The head coach also provided information about Reece James suffering another hamstring issue, adding to the challenges faced by the team.

Looking ahead, Chelsea will face Sheffield United and Newcastle in crucial upcoming fixtures, and Pochettino is keen on addressing the team’s issues and making necessary improvements for better results.
