Rio Ferdinand makes an intriguing assertion concerning Thomas Partey and Casemiro ahead of Manchester United’s match against Arsenal.

Rio Ferdinand, a Manchester United star, believes Casemiro is a better player than Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey. In terms of defensive attributes, the Englishman feels that the Ghana international cannot be compared to the Brazilian.

Ferdinand stated on his Vibe With Five podcast, ” “Consider the significance to their teams…you could argue both sides equally. However, when you look at Casemiro’s stats, he destroys him. Partey isn’t good enough defensively to do what Casemiro is doing. I don’t believe he has the defensive impact for Manchester United.”

However, the former England international also praised Partey for his impressive performances for Arsenal this season. Ferdinand added “On the ball, he’s doing more. He’s dictating play for Arsenal. He’s playing passes I didn’t know he had. His passing has been unbelievable.” Partey has been an integral aspect of Mikel Arteta’s side this season. The Ghanaian midfielder has registered 15 Premier League appearances, scoring two goals.

However, the former England international complimented Partey for his outstanding efforts for Arsenal this season.

Ferdinand added “He’s doing more because he’s on the ball.

He is directing Arsenal’s play.

He’s genuinely playing passes I had no idea he had.

His death has been incredible.”

Partey has been an important member of Mikel Arteta’s team this season.

The Ghanaian midfielder has made 15 Premier League games and scored two goals.

The Gunners have had a fantastic season in the English Premier League this season.

The north London club leads the table by eight points, eight points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, and has won 15 of their 18 matches this season.

“I’d rather Arsenal win the league than Man City. I think it would be sensational for the Premier League. I think about watching the Premier League, we’ve seen City sweep up, apart from Liverpool, over the past five years. To think Arsenal could come and win it, it adds to our league, it makes our league great. I’d love Man Utd to win it, but I don’t think that’s going to happen this season.”

The Gunners will lock horns with Manchester United at the Emirates on January 22.
