Sir Alex Ferguson has personally suggested Manchester United move for star
Manchester United are intensely courting Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt. Club legend Sir Alex Ferguson still has a say.
anchester United is associated with success, great players, glory and still Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Scot, now 80 years old, coached the “Red Devils” from 1986 to 2013. In these almost 1,500 competitive games, he won 38 titles with United, including two Champions Leagues and 13 national championships.

Ferguson at Manchester an adviser in the background
Nine years after leaving office, Ferguson is still involved when it comes to transfers. he acts as a kind of advisor in the background.
During the summer break, Ferguson used his network. Goalkeeper David de Gea is – despite an excellent performance in the game against Liverpool last matchday – not without controversy at the Premier League club.
The Spaniard was criticized especially after the 4-0 draw against outsiders Brentford. Coach Erik ten Hag said after the final whistle that he “could have taken everyone out” at the break. De Gea’s contract expires in a year, he doesn’t feel the unconditional support in the club. With an annual salary of around 21 million euros, the 31-year-old is also one of the top earners. Will he be replaced soon?

Manchester United’s Kevin Trapp in focus
Ferguson was suggested by his contacts in Germany in the summer to take a closer look at Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp.
And what the “Sir” got to see was quite convincing. Trapp played a major role in Hessen’s success in the Europa League. The Saarlander is a leading figure in Frankfurt, face of the club, he is multilingual.
f Ferguson believes in a player’s quality, then he will assist in a transfer. He then tries to free up the necessary funds from the Glazer family, which is controversial in fan circles. In other words: If Eintracht wants a sum in the range of 15 to 20 million euros for Trapp, who is tied until 2024, and the club management including Ferguson is convinced, then Manchester can put together the overall package.

United offers the national goalkeeper between ten and eleven million euros a year. Will Trapp forgo the Champions League and go to the Europa League with United – and compete with de Gea in the World Cup year?
Eintracht is tense and wants quick clarity
Time is of the essence in this tug-of-war, however, and there is a certain tension in the club. The Manchester flirt comes as a surprise, after Martin Hinteregger and Filip Kostic, a departure from Trapp shortly before the end of the transfer period would be difficult to digest.
Sports director Markus Krösche therefore wants clarity as soon as possible. The Frankfurters would have to be active again on the transfer market and get a new number one. The reserve goalkeepers Diant Ramaj and Jens Grahl are not (yet) expected to play this role.
