Specsavers trolls Chelsea over Mykhaylo Mudryk deal as Arsenal lost him to transfer Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk, swooping in from under Arsenal’s nose to bring the winger to the Premier League.
On Saturday, the Blues stunningly hijacked Arsenal’s move for the winger, quickly reaching an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk. The Gunners had long been interested in signing the Ukrainian, but many bids were turned down before Chelsea stepped in.
With the Blues underperforming under Graham Potter, they moved quickly to sign Mudryk. To do so, they promised to pay Shakhtar’s £87 million asking price right away A mix of a one-time fee and perks.
The 22-year-old traveled to England over the weekend and watched Chelsea overcome Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. He was subsequently introduced to the audience as Potter’s team scored a close victory.

Specsavers issued a scathing put-down of the transaction as Mudryk took his first steps on the turf at his new home. “Hello @chelseafc,” it tweeted. Arsenal has informed us that they intend to purchase 6,000,000 lens cloths from us. Just so you know.”
Mudryk had been linked with a move to Arsenal rather than the Blues for some time, and had even intimated that the Emirates Stadium would be his preferred destination. However, after joining Chelsea, the winger stated that he was eager to get started.
“This is a tremendous deal,” he said club in a terrific league, and it is an extremely appealing challenge for me at this point in my career. I’m looking forward to meeting my new team members and working and learning under Graham Potter and his colleagues.”
Chelsea overcame Palace thanks to a goal by Kai Havertz soon after the hour mark, which Mudryk witnessed. Potter has now signed five players this month and is ecstatic to have beaten Arsenal to Mudryk’s signature.

You need a squad that’s got the right amount of competition.
I think we’ve got to be not necessarily careful. “But I think you’ve just got to understand that we’ve got about 10 players unavailable. Obviously you can’t just sign players to replace those because in the end, you have a squad of 30. You have to do the right thing and the window is complicated in January.”
