Star has signed personal terms with Chelsea – Blues give go-ahead to sign defender – Potter admits fans will adore new arrival
Chelsea manager Graham Potter believes Chelsea fans will like watching new attacking midfielder Noni Madueke play for the club.
Madueke made his senior debut for PSV in 2019, before becoming a regular the following season, scoring seven goals in 24 league games. And his performances piqued the Blues’ interest.
England Under-21 winger Madueke has arrived from PSV Eindhoven on a seven-and-a-half-year contract for around £35 million. He could make his debut next week in Chelsea’s Friday Night Football clash at home to Fulham.
And Potter has now told the fans that they will enjoy watching the young man: “Noni is a young player, an exciting player, left-footed wide player that can give us balance and competition in that area,” he said.
“So he’s looking forward to starting his Chelsea career and we’re excited to have him. I think the supporters will really enjoy him.”

Maduake opened out after completing his move to the Premier League giants, admitting that he is very thrilled to play for one of the top clubs in the world.
‘I’m really happy to join with one of the best clubs in the world in Chelsea,’ Madueke stated after his transfer was completed.
‘Returning to England and playing in the Premier League is a dream come true for me and my family, and I can’t wait to get started. I’m enthusiastic for what the future holds, for the owner’s vision for the future, and for the opportunity to play at a club like this and win at the greatest level.’
We give him credit for his talent, but is this the wisest option for his career At PSV he was playing ever week – developing very nicely and becoming a top winger. At Chelsea he will either be loaned out or sat on the bench for the next few seasons – is a risky move to make that is for sure
He has established himself at the top level of the game – Champions League proven – is capable of dealing with the greatest of attackers and is a true leader in that back-line.
If Chelsea can obtain the guy for a bargain, as many people feel, he would be a fantastic addition.
Chelsea have apparently reached personal terms with right-back Malo Gusto regarding a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Reece James suffered a bad injury early in the season that has kept him out for some time – and has also hindered him from impressing for England at the World Cup.
He may be getting better and returning to action soon – but his departure has shown Graham Potter that he needs to delve into that transfer kitty and add another right-sided defender to the squad.
As a result, there has been continual talk in the media that Gusto is a player in whom Chelsea is particularly interested.
Now – According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is in in talks with Lyon about the probable signing of Gusto, and the player is eager to join Chelsea despite the fact that Reece James will compete for the position.
Chelsea and the defender have already reached a personal understanding. Lyon, on the other hand, is hesitant to surrender its finest asset in January and has turned down Chelsea’s opening approach for the teenager.

Chelsea have demonstrated in January transfer window that if they want to sign a player, they will, and that is exactly what they will do with Gusto.
It does not matter that he may not be good enough for the Premier League – if Chelsea believe that he can make an impact on the squad – then they will make their moves to try and get a deal done.
There is always room to add depth to the squad, and with James constantly injured, they need to sign another right-back this transfer window or at the conclusion of the season.
So it will be interesting to watch whether he does arrive in the country.
