The date for Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante’s comeback from injury has been announced prior to his highly anticipated comeback.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is expected to return to action by the end of February.

The veteran midfielder was injured in the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in their second game of the season. He has since been sidelined.

The Frenchman was supposed to return sooner, but he aggravated his injury in October of last year. He also missed France’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

According to L’Equipe, Kante could return to action by the end of February. Although it is still more than a month away, it would be a significant boost for manager Graham Potter.

The English manager previously stated about the midfielder’s injury:

“My goal is to get him back to form as soon as possible and back on the pitch in the right way, because we haven’t seen him.”

Chelsea have had numerous injury problems this season, with key players such as N’Golo Kante, Reece James, and Ben Chilwell missing extended periods.

In midfield, Potter has used Conor Gallagher and Denis Zakaria, but the Blues have missed Kante’s industry and experience. They currently sit 10th in the Premier League table and have been knocked out of all domestic cup competitions.

Since joining Chelsea from Leicester City in 2016, Kante has made 262 appearances. His contract with the west London club is set to expire in the summer.

Chelsea is looking to strengthen its midfield.

According to The Telegraph, the west London club will look to sign a midfielder this summer. In January, they were interested in signing Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez, but the deal fell through.

Chelsea are now interested in signing Matheus Nunes, a midfielder for Wolverhampton Wanderers who has also been linked with Liverpool. Last summer, the Reds attempted to sign him from Sporting CP, but he instead joined Wolves.

Nunes has appeared in 24 games this season, scoring one goal and assisting on two others. In the summer, he is expected to cost around £55 million.

The Blues are also keeping an eye on Declan Rice of West Ham United and Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion.

The contracts of Kante and Jorginho with the club expire in the summer, and the latter is expected to leave. As a result, Chelsea are looking for midfield reinforcements in the summer.

The date for Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante’s comeback from injury has been announced prior to his highly anticipated comeback.
