Chelsea eye Marcus Thuram transfer dive
Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic both incurred wounds during the 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Thursday night, joining Armando Broja on the injury rundown and leaving Graham Potter’s attacking choices debilitated.
The Blues have now entered the competition to sign Borussia Monchengladbach and France striker Marcus Thuram. The 25-year-old included for Les Bleus at the World Cup and his agreement with the Bundesliga side terminates toward the finish of the time, meaning he can arrange a pre-contract concurrence with different clubs from January – or he could be finished paperwork for a deal cost should a club wish to get it for him before the summer.
L’Equipe have connected the striker with a transition to Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, as well as Premier League side Aston Manor, while it was uncovered in La Repubblica that Manchester United were top choices to land the player. It isn’t yet known whether Thuram favors a January move, or whether he would like to see the season out with Monchengladbach.
N’Golo Kante contract agreement ‘close’
Chelsea are nearing an agreement with the French midfielder over a contract extension. Kante had been linked with a move away from west London, with Barcelona and Al-Nassr both keen on signing the 31-year-old. But now the Blues are waiting on the French international’s response following their contract offer.
Kante’s contract at the London club is set to expire this summer meaning he is free to negotiate a pre-contract with clubs from abroad. Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have also been linked to Kante, who is thought to be happy in London and has set his sights on remaining in the capital.
