Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has hailed Spurs striker Harry Kane ahead of their Premier League meeting with Wolves.

The Tottenham manager admits that, while he Harry Kane’s ability, it’s his mentality and excitement to motivate his Spurs colleagues that stands apart for him.

Back in August 2012, Kane came on as a 86th-minute substitute for Sandro in a 2-1 misfortune at Newcastle United.

The Tottenham striker had made his club debut one year sooner, in an Europa League qualifier at home to Hearts.

From that point forward, Kane has ascended to the actual top of the game, sparkling for club and country.

“One of the best strikers that I had in my career as a coach”

Alasdair Gold asked Conte where Kane ranks in the list of strikers this game has seen.

“For sure, he is one of the best strikers that I had in my career as a coach,” replied the Italian.

“The characteristic that hit me about Harry, is that he has great talent, he is a number nine but at the same time can become a number 10 during the game.

“But what I love about him is the desire, the will to work and to be a good example for his team-mates.

“I appreciate that a lot, I love it, to see a player, a world class striker to be a good example, because if you have this type of example it is more simple with you to work with the rest of the players.”

With Conte in charge and a busy summer on the transfer front, Tottenham are looking strong right now.

Kane is yet to lift a trophy at Spurs – could this be the season when this changes?

It’s a bit early, but there are some promising signs.
