Transfer Standoff: Liverpool refuses to reach £70m Price Tag for ‘Unbelievable’ Player

Despite having accepted personal terms with Alexis MacAllister, iverpool  are apparently unwilling to meet Brighton & Hove Albion’s £70 million asking price.

According to 90min, the Reds have expressed worries about paying so much for the 24-year-old, but there is an agreement that a deal may still be done despite Liverpool’s refusal to fulfill Brighton’s demands for Mac Allister.

According to the source, the Argentine international is set to become Liverpool’s first summer signing as Jurgen Klopp seeks to restructure his midfield options in the coming weeks, with Mac Allister a player who may be ideal for the Anfield side.

Former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer described him as a ‘unbelievable’ talent, and the Brighton star has been one of the greatest midfielders in the Premier League this season, as well as establishing himself as a star on the international scene with Argentina.

Given how excellent Mac Allister has been this season, the Seagulls’ £70 million valuation makes sense. However, given Liverpool’s restricted spending power this summer, it’s natural that the Reds are set on paying the entire cost sought by Brighton.

Liverpool must yield to Brighton’s desire to sign Mac Allister.

Based on the midfielder’s overall form for Brighton over the last three seasons, £70 million may appear to be an overpayment. However, if Liverpool want to move the 24-year-old to Merseyside in a timely manner, they will have to pay the transfer fee.

As we all know, Liverpool are trying to acquire more than one midfielder this summer, and while Mac Allister is expected to be the Reds’ most expensive signing, £70 million may look like a steal if the Argentine hits the ground running at Anfield.
