Most would agree the rankings have baffled numerous football fans – especially because of the way that Real Madrid, the supreme European heroes, get themselves 6th on the rundown.

In the interim, Bayern Munich have been knocked off best position by Manchester City.

How are UEFA’s coefficients determined?
