Who is Cristian Stellin? The Expected Tottenham Interim manager profiled as Conte replacement
Cristian Stellini will likely replace Antonio Conte as Tottenham Hotspur manager, but who is the Italian coach?
There are barely a few hours left in the transfer window, but Tottenham supporters are likely still perusing Pedro Porro’s Instagram account.
Nonetheless, those same Tottenham supporters have now received shocking news.
Today, Spurs announced that manager Antonio Conte has been diagnosed with cholecystitis and will undergo surgery to have his gallbladder removed.
Conte will now undergo a “recuperation time” and will not manage Tottenham for the foreseeable future.
No timetable has been provided for Conte’s comeback, and he will miss forthcoming games.
Football London reports that Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini will likely assume first-team responsibilities with Tottenham.

Some will recognize Stellini as Conte’s right-hand guy, but who will be Tottenham’s temporary manager?
Who is CRISTIAN STELLINI of Spurs?
Stellini was a defender for Italian clubs Novara, SPAL, Ternana, and Como throughout his playing career.
Stellini moved to Modena in 2003, but played sparingly and concluded his career with Genoa and Bari.
In 2007, when Conte was in charge of Bari, he signed Stellini, initiating a lengthy association between the two.
When Stellini chose to retire from playing, Conte hired him as a coach for Siena in 2010 and then for Juventus the following year.

Stellini was forced to retire in 2012 and was banned from coaching for two and a half years owing to his involvement in an Italian match-fixing incident.
In 2015, Stellini returned to Genoa in a coaching capacity before being named manager of Serie C’s Alessandria.
Stellini performed poorly in this position, winning only twice in 14 games before being fired.
Conte and Stellini were reunited at Inter Milan in 2019, and it was no surprise that Stellini followed Conte to Tottenham the previous season.
Stellini has frequently filled in for Conte in news conferences and even in the dugout against Marseille in the Champions League when Conte was suspended.
Stellini now faces a series of crucial matches, beginning with Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, and potentially also AC Milan in the Champions League.
Stellini will have learned a great deal from Conte and will aim to keep Tottenham progressing despite Conte’s absence.
