Xhaka Provides Gabriel Jesus Injury Update Ahead of Fulham Match Amid Arsenal’s Sickness Issues

Granit Xhaka has provided information on Gabriel Jesus’ health status as the team faces a potential setback due to sickness ahead of their game against Fulham in the Premier League. Arsenal will have a challenging match on Sunday following their return from Sporting Lisbon where they faced injuries and ended up with a draw.

Arsenal are gearing up to take on Fulham in the upcoming Premier League match on Sunday, following their return from Portugal where they played in the Europa League. In the first leg of their last-16 tie against Sporting Lisbon, they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, with some new faces like Matt Turner, Jakub Kiwior, Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson being given the chance to start.

However, Mikel Arteta is expected to field his strongest team for the match against Fulham as they look to win the Premier League title for the first time in 19 years. The match against Marco Silva’s side is expected to be a challenging one, as Fulham have been in great form recently. Arteta has been cautious about rotating his squad too much this season, but the importance of the game means he will likely revert back to his strongest lineup.

According to reports, Eddie Nketiah and Leandro Trossard are expected to miss the upcoming match against Fulham due to injuries. As a result, Gabriel Martinelli is expected to play a central role in the team, having previously played in that position against Sporting Lisbon.

Gabriel Jesus, who suffered a knee injury during the World Cup, has resumed training with the team but did not travel with them to Portugal. However, he is not expected to be fully fit for the upcoming match against Fulham, which has left Granit Xhaka eager for his return.

“We lost Eddie as well, so it’s much more important to have Gabi back,” he said on Thursday night. “Leo as well is injured and he can play in this position.

“Step by step, I hope that Gabi will be 100 per cent fit to help this team because we know that he can help us. With his attitude, with his personality, he is very, very important for us.”

Sickness bug fading

Arsenal had to do without the services of Martin Odegaard and Kieran Tierney during their match against Sporting Lisbon due to a sickness bug that had affected the team. Additionally, Fabio Vieira was feeling unwell and had to pull out of his press duties ahead of the game. However, he was able to play the following day.

Fortunately, the sickness issue seems to have subsided, and both Odegaard and Tierney are expected to be available for the upcoming match against Fulham. While Odegaard is likely to feature in the starting lineup, Tierney might be included in the matchday squad as a substitute.

Fans call for end to 3pm blackout

Reiss Nelson’s winning goal in the match against Bournemouth was a significant moment for Arsenal’s season and could even have implications for the Premier League title race. However, millions of football fans in the UK were unable to watch it live due to the 3 pm blackout rule.

This rule prohibits the live broadcast of matches on television between 2:45 pm and 5:15 pm on Saturday afternoons. The rule was introduced in the 1960s with the aim of preserving match attendances. However, many believe that it is now outdated and that fans are not getting their money’s worth from expensive TV subscriptions.

A social media survey conducted by Mirror Football this week revealed that 80.8% of 1,226 respondents believe that the rule should be abolished.
