“You never know,” Chelsea star refuses to rule out a move to the Bundesliga and its not Mason Mount
Kai Havertz of Chelsea could be interested in a move to Bayern Munich in the future.
Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz is open to reuniting with former Blues manager Thomas Tuchel at German champions Bayern Munich.
Havertz was a key player of Tuchel’s Chelsea team during the 2020-21 season, scoring the game-winning goal against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final. It remains the highlight of the youngster’s career at Stamford Bridge to this day.
Furthermore, due to Romelu Lukaku’s inconsistent play in front of goal, the German international was moved to the number nine position. It played to his strengths in some ways, and Havertz had a strong spell in front of goal.
Nonetheless, after Tuchel was fired, Havertz continued to play an important role under Graham Potter. He has not been out of work for long, having taken over at Bayern Munich from Julian Nagelsmann.
Meanwhile, Havertz is having a difficult campaign this year. In 27 Premier League appearances, the 23-year-old has only scored seven goals. In an interview with Bild, the former Bayern Leverkusen player discussed how his future at Chelsea is uncertain and said: But the future is what matters, and for now, we require him until the end of the season. If we can sign a striker, Havertz will almost certainly be moved to the right side, where he will be able to move more freely and easily distribute the ball forward.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to properly establish himself after three years, but that’s understandable given that he is only 23 and has a long way to go before becoming well-known.
