Young Chelsea Talent, Just 17, Joins First Team Training in Preparation for Premier League Clash Against Bournemouth
Michael Golding has been spotted training with the Chelsea first team in advance of this weekend’s Premier League action.
A picture posted on the 5th Stand app shows the teenager in the background of a training session alongside deadline day signing Cole Palmer.
It is common for a group of young players to train with the starters when the majority of those players are away representing their countries.
This was the case last week, when Kiano Dyer was among a group of youths spotted engaging in this activity.
This is the first season that the 16-year-old has been a full-time scholar with the club, so the fact that he is already training with the first team is a huge indicator that he will be exceptional.
Golding was spotted during first-team training.
However, being a player who is now training alongside the entire first team squad is a whole new level, and yesterday the club released photos from the session, revealing who was present.
In the background of an image of Palmer, three days before the Blues’ Premier League match against Bournemouth, Golding can be seen working hard.
The 17-year-old has amassed a wealth of experience with the Under-18s and has already played his first game with the Under-21s.
Despite this, this experience will likely be just as, if not more, crucial to his development as a central midfielder.
If he remains in training today, two of the most expensive players in his position will join him.
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo were absent from yesterday’s practice because they were returning from World Cup qualifiers in South America.
