Why isn’t the Liverpool vs Fulham match taking place this weekend as part of the Premier League fixtures

The Premier League match between Liverpool and Fulham scheduled for Saturday afternoon has been cancelled, and the reason for it is as follows.

Due to the postponement of their Premier League match against Fulham at Anfield on Saturday, Liverpool has been given an extended break. Jurgen Klopp’s team suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in their previous game and is currently six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

However, this gap could increase to nine points by the time they play again, which will be an away game against title contenders Manchester City on Saturday, April 1.

The reason for Liverpool’s extended break is that Tottenham Hotspur, who are currently fourth-placed and six points ahead of Liverpool, will be playing on Saturday against Southampton, a team in danger of relegation. Liverpool’s originally scheduled match was against Fulham, who they had previously drawn 2-2 with on the opening day of the season in August.

The match between Liverpool and Fulham was postponed and is yet to be rescheduled.

This was because Fulham qualified for the FA Cup quarter-finals, having won 2-0 against Premier League rival Leeds United last month. They will face Manchester City away in another all-top-flight clash on Sunday, with the winners progressing to the Wembley semi-finals.

Following this weekend’s matches, there will be a two-week break for Premier League teams due to the final international break of the season.

Nuwz added to injury list

Darwin Nunez has withdrawn from Uruguay’s national team due to an injury and will receive treatment at Liverpool’s AXA Training Centre.

The extent of the injury is unknown, but the 23-year-old forward had been carrying a shoulder injury since a match against Newcastle a month ago.

Nunez had previously missed a match against Crystal Palace, but had played in several matches since then.

This is the third injury Nunez has suffered in his debut season at Liverpool. The team hopes that the injury isn’t serious and won’t keep him out of upcoming matches against Man City, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Liverpool has had more injuries this season than any other Premier League team.
